Argyle Thoroughbreds Secures Mosayter

Central West NSW property Argyle Thoroughbreds has purchased blue-blooded US-bred stallion Mosayter (Storm Cat–Bashayer, by Mr. Prospector) from his Western Australia connections. The successful transaction comes despite Mosayter emerging as one of Perth's most promising sires, including 2 individual stakes-winners in July: Mr Moet, the winner of the $126,000 Strickland Stakes (2000m) on July 7, and Shoot For Glory, a third placegetter in the Belmont Classic last Saturday. Originally sent East on a lease agreement, the now permanently NSW-based Mosayter stands for $4,400 alongside $2,200 Danzero stallion Marachel, a proven sire of city winners.

In Australia, Queensland's Canungra-based thoroughbred training facility Wadham Park has 41 racetrack prospects entered for next week's Magic Millions Gold Coast Horses-In-Training Sale. Chilean Superstar Heads To Australia

Australian thoroughbred agency, Pedigree Dynamics, who have in the past been instrumental in the purchase of overseas stallions Taimazov (by Southern Halo), Joyeux Danseur (Nureyev), Star Cross (Southern Halo), Mosayter (Storm Cat) & Numerous Times (by Numerous), is involved with the purchase of Chilean stayer Cefalu. According to Pedigree Dynamics principal Jane Henning, Chile's leading stayer, "Cefalu has been purchased via Pedigree Dynamics & Chilean agent Nelson Sepulveda by the Melbourne based racing group, OTI Racing and Bloodstock. Company Directors Terry Henderson and Simon O'Donnell are keen to source world class stayers, with the Melbourne Cup (of 2006) their primary aim." A 4YO gelded son of Dushyantor (Ire), turf specialist Cefalu won the Gr1 Chilean Derby before finishing runner-up in the invitation-only Gr1 Gran Premio Internacional Asociation Latinoamericana de Jockey Clubs in Argentina. Cefalu will arrive in Australia in late November and after a spell, "will be prepared by Lee Freedman with the 2006 CB Cox Stakes and Melbourne Cup in mind."

1st Winner To Riverdene's Marechal

Riverdene Stud's 9YO stallion Marechal (Danzero-Gourette, by R B Chesne) recorded his 1st winner when his 3YO 1st starter Hello Andy (Marechal-Swing Till Dawn) won over 1010m at Ballina on the NSW north coast. To date Marechal (a black-type winner, with 2 victories & a runner-up from just 6 career starts) has had only 4 to race for a winner & runner-up from his 1st crop of 12 live foals. However he has over 100 2YOs coming through this season. He is standing for $5,500 this season at Wagga Wagga-based Riverdene Stud in southern NSW.
