Malone Invests In Future At Kitchwin Hills

Wednesday, 22nd August 2012

Leading Hunter Valley farm Kitchwin Hills announced that "long-standing Stud Manger Michael Malone has taken equity in the business", reports breednet.com.au. Kitchwin Hills' Steve Brown commented, "As of 1st July Mick takes a stake in Kitchwin Hills and we are very pleased to see him positioned in such a meaningful way… Mick is part of the furniture here, he lives for Kitchwin's clients, gives them everything he has. As a client-driven Stud, this passion for client success is absolutely key to a successful outcome for all concerned". A delighted Malone remarked: "I'm pretty excited by how this positions me… The Brown family are wonderful people and are always giving in their own special way. This is central to why Kitchwin Hills has developed the reputation it has. We have significant clientele behind everything we do and two blue-blooded stallions that could yet prove to be anything… The Browns have always said "if it works for the clients, you can relax, the rest will look after itself" and that is what this Stud is all about. I am always looking to bring on new clients and deliver them the best financial outcome achievable and I guess if it's possible, as a significant shareholder in the business I am now even more driven to achieve great outcomes for our clients. The tough environment for breeders at present no doubt brings with it opportunities and I am particularly excited about the future".

Dane Shadow 2010 Book Close To Full

Friday, 28th May 2010

The win yesterday at Ballarat by 3YO Rising Shadow completed a purple patch of form for resident Kitchwin Hills sire Dane Shadow (Danehill-Slight Chance, by Centaine). For the month of May, Dane Shadow has been represented by 27 individual runners who have recorded 10 wins, 8 runners-ups & 3 3rd-placings. Dane Shadow's achievements come on the back of small crops of 54 & 50 foals from his initial 2 seasons at stud, a figure he doubled last season. Kitchwin Hills stud manager Mick Malone is close to closing Dane Shadow's book for 2010, commenting: "At this stage we are keeping him open only for the higher-quality mare." Dane Shadow's 2010 fee is $16,500.

Rewards Club Launched By Racing NSW

Thursday, 20th May 2010

Racing NSW launched the Racing NSW Rewards Club, an ambitious initiative that aims "to generate an additional $50 million p.a. in revenue for the NSW Thoroughbred Racing Industry by Year 3 of its operation." The stated aim of the new venture is to "enable Racing NSW to identify, acquire, retain and communicate to key customers and get them to spend more within the industry." According to a Racing NSW release, "Members can earn points for nearly every dollar spent within the NSW Thoroughbred Racing Industry through a host of well-known companies who are program partners including, but not limited to, Inglis, STC, AJC, John O'Shea, Tim Martin, Chris Waller, Yarraman Park, Kitchwin Hills and Widden Studs." The concept is based around members transferring points to the Rewards Club "from most credit card loyalty programs and the TAB Number 1 Club", and then redeeming points "to pay for products and services at program partners including thoroughbred purchases, insurance, service fees, club memberships, dining experiences, training fees and more." More information can be found at info@racingnswrewardsclub.com.au.

$22k Duporth & $16.5k Dane Shadow At Kitchwin

Wednesday, 28th April 2010

Scone-based Kitchwin Hills in the NSW Hunter Valley announced the 2010 service fees for Dane Shadow (Gr3-winner & triple Gr2-placed) & new addition Duporth (Gr1-winner, Gr2-winner & Gr3-winner). Kitchwin Hills stud manager Mick Malone commented: “I know breeders will be surprised we haven’t increased Dane Shadow’s fee. It was something we discussed at length, but we wanted to ensure another 150 or so quality mares to back up last year’s book. We are taking a long-term view by not pricing him where many are saying we could. We can see the future benefit by creating 2 solid books, back-to-back.”
