Highly progressive Glen Eden Stud, just north of Kilmore in one of Victoria's prime thoroughbred regions, has landed a real coup in 2018 with the acquisition of Bon Hoffa's Gr1 winning son Bon Aurum to its stallion roster.
The most salient point when considering Bon Aurum as a potential sire option is the complete absence of Danehill in his pedigree, a definite point of difference and mating freedom in a stallion market dominated by Danehill-line stallions.
Bon Arum is a 4-times stakes winning son of Bon Hoffa (62% W/R) who showed 2YO precocity before assuming the mantle as one of the best 1400m gallopers in the country. His wins at that distance range included the Gr1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes, Gr3 Caulfield Guineas Prelude, Listed Sofitel Handicap and Listed Pin & Win Stakes.
Bon Aurum is the best performed son of Bon Hoffa, whose other stakeswinners include Listed Magic Millions Guineas winner Deiheros and Listed Testa Rossa Stakes winner Bons Away.
From only 7 crops to date, Bon Hoffa is doing a remarkably good job with just shy of $10 million in progeny earnings. Bon Aurum has all the credentials to follow in his father's footsteps, and even surpass them.
An impressive looking stallion with terrific presence, great strength and scope and faultless conformation, trainer Ciaron Maher described Bon Aurum as a "tough horse with a remarkable will to win." He went further suggesting "he was an exceptional athlete; a beautiful physical type."
Across a career spanning 15 runs, Bon Aurum not only distinguished himself countless times at stakes level, won at the highest level, and banked just shy of $600,000, but he also defeated gallopers the ilk of Tivaci, Tashbeeh, Speith, Voodoo Lad, Fast 'n' Rocking, Ulmann and Jungle Edge.
At an introductory fee of $5,500 inc.
