Grandstand Damage & Flooding At Fair Grounds

Meanwhile Churchill Downs president Tom Meeker reported Hurricane Katrina had caused damage to Fair Grounds Race Course in New Orleans (owned & operated by Churchill Downs), but the company will "reserve detailed comment until we are able to conduct on-site inspections & more accurately gauge the impact on our Louisiana operations." Fair Grounds security personnel reported the racetrack "sustained structural damage to the grandstand facility & there is some flooding around the property".
