Oaklawn Seeks Electronic Gambling
We-Have-Seen-The-Future Update: In Arkansas, Oaklawn Park has requested the city of Hot Springs "conduct a special election asking voters to decide the future of electronic gambling in the state," reported thoroughbredtimes.com. The Arkansas Legislature previously passed Act 1151 allowing the state's pari-mutuel facilities to request the special election to expand "electronic games of skill." The state's Department of Finance & Administration estimates "handle at the track could increase by US$56 million (with 14% allotted toward purses) with the introduction of new electronic games.
