Aust Jockeys Head To South Korea

Australian jockeys Mark Newnham, Nathan Day & Gary Baker are heading to South Korea "for a 6-month stint" reported The Sydney Morning Herald. Newnham, 37 (a prolific rider of trackwork for leading Sydney trainer Gai Waterhouse) confirmed: "I'll go over & have a look. It is a great opportunity." The South Korean Racing Association "has built a new racetrack at Busan, where racing will be conducted once-a-week, with 12 races set down on a Friday & each worth A$62,000".
