Irish Sire Tax Exemption To End

Irish breeders' much-envied tax exemption on stallion fees "is to be abolished," according to the Irish Examiner. The newspaper reported the Irish government "has conceded the tax break is an illegal state aid (under European Commission rules) & will be abandoned in December's budget". Ireland "is the 3rd-largest thoroughbred producer in the world, standing roughly 400 stallions" noted racingpost.co.uk.
