1st Stakes Win To Black Minnaloushe

Wednesday, 7th September 2005

In the US, NZ Windsor Park's dual Gr1-winning shuttler Black Minnaloushe (Storm Cat-Coral Dance, by Green Dancer) recorded his 1st stakes-winner when 2YO colt Stream Cat (Black Minnaloushe-Water Course, by Irish River) won the With Anticipation Stakes (8.5 furlongs on turf) at Saratoga in New York. Kentucky-bred Stream Cat (ridden by Gary Stevens for trainer Patrick Biancone) now has 1 win from 2 starts. Black Minnaloushe now has 8 individual winners (including 2 stakes horses) in his 1st crop, which also includes European multiple Group-performer Black Charmer (who holds a nomination in the Gr1 Dewhurst Stakes on October 15 at Newmarket in England). Black Minnaloushe recently arrived back in NZ for his 4th season & his 1st Southern Hemisphere juveniles step onto the track this season; meanwhile he has averaged over 90 mares in each of his initial 3 seasons at Windsor Park & will stand in 2005 at NZ$12,000+GST.
