Stravinsky Adds Irish Gr3 Win

Coolmore's NZ Cambridge Stud shuttler Stravinsky (Nureyev-Fire The Groom, by Blushing Groom) added a European group success when 4YO gelded sprinter Benbaun (Stravinsky-Escape To Victory, by Salse) won Ireland's €75,000 (A$120,000) G3 Flying Five (5 furlongs) at The Curragh. Benbaun (ridden by Jamie Spencer for trainer Mark Wallace) defeated star 8YO gelding The Tatling (Perugino-Aunty Eileen, by Ahonoora) & 7YO gelding The Trader (Selkirk-Snowing, by Tate Gallery). Benbaun now has 7 wins & 5 placings in 20 starts for €232,877 (A$372,000) prize-money. Stravinsky was 1999 Champion European Sprinter & top of the 1999 International 3YO Classification (after his UK Gr1 July Cup & Gr1 Nunthorpe Stakes victories). He has commenced his 5th year at Cambridge Stud where he stands for NZ$35,000+GST.
