Ballena Vista Buys Sea Of Secrets

Thursday, 8th September 2005

US Gr2-winning 10-year-old stallion Sea Of Secrets (whose progeny include a then-record US$2.7 million auction buy) "has been purchased by Ballena Vista Farm in California" where he will stand the 2006 season, reported thoroughbredtimes.com. Sea Of Secrets (Storm Cat-Love From Mom, by Mr Prospector) previously stood at Walmac Farm in Kentucky & has sired 51 winners (including stakes-winners Appealing Secret, Road To Mandalay & Thekatcamehome) from 75 starters in 3 crops of racing age which have earned US$2,584,397. And his son Diamond Fury "became what was the most expensive juvenile ever purchased at public auction when he sold for US$2.7 million at the 2003 Barretts Equine March sale of selected 2YOs-in-training". On the track, Kentucky-bred Sea Of Secrets won 4 of 10 starts (including the 1998 Gr2 San Vicente Stakes at Santa Anita) & earned US$155,757. He is a half-brother to Gr3 winners Fight For Love, Dancing Jon & Love That Jazz (dam of multiple Gr1 winner Society Selection).
