Doncaster Day-2: $195,000 Compton Place Colt

The Ross Doyle-Richard Hannon team also out-bid trainer Howard Johnson & paid 75,000 guineas (A$195,000) for a Compton Place colt reported racingpost.co.uk. The colt (consigned by Gay O'Callaghan's Yeomanstown Stud) is "a relative of Mummy's Pet, College Chapel & Trans Island" had been purchased as a foal for 25,000 guineas (A$65,000). Doyle confirmed both yearlings were bought for "the same existing owner" & summed up: "I thought they were the 2 nicest horses here tonight."
