Pollard's Vision To Stud At Wintergreen

Thursday, 8th September 2005

US Gr2-winning 4YO Pollard's Vision (Carson City-Etats Unis, by Dixieland Band) will enter stud in 2006 at Wintergreen Stallion Station in Kentucky, "the farm where he was foaled & raised," reported thoroughbredtimes.com. Owner David Moore's Edgewood Farm retired Pollard's Vision "after he strained a suspensory ligament in his right foreleg" during the Gr1 Whitney Handicap at Saratoga on August 6. Pollard's Vision is blind in 1 eye & was "named for Seabiscuit's jockey Red Pollard, who also was blind in 1 eye". On the track Pollard's Vision won 6 of 23 starts (including the 2004 Gr2 Illinois Derby, Gr3 Leonard Richards Stakes & Gr3 Walmac Lone Star Derby, plus this year's Gr3 National Jockey Club Handicap & runner-up in the Gr1 Pimlico Special Handicap) & earned US$1,430,311.
