Doncaster Day-3: $195,000 Danehill Dancer Filly
In the nearby sale ring overnight, agent Johnny McKeever (bidding for trainer Brian Meehan) set the early pace during the Day-3 evening session at the Doncaster St Leger Yearling Sale & out-bid Barry Hills to pay 75,000 guineas (A$195,000) for a Danehill Dancer filly, reported racingpost.co.uk. The filly (offered for breeders Pat & Mick Reditt by Catridge Farm Stud) is out of a half-sister to Diadem Stakes hero Acclamation & is also a half-sister to Hills' 2002 French Prix Robert Papin winner Never A Doubt. McKeever commented: "She fits our profile for buying a racy filly with broodmare potential, which she will have as a half-sister to a Gr2 winner & a granddaughter of (Acclamation's dam) Princess Athena. She was a gorgeous, rangy filly & a typical Danehill Dancer. There are 2 or 3 possible owners for her."
