Lad Of The Manor Wins Dato Tan Chin Nam Stakes

Monday, 12th September 2005

NZ Cambridge Stud-based multiple champion sire Zabeel (Sir Tristram-Lady Giselle, by Nureyev) added another group success when ultra-consistent 6YO gelding Lad Of The Manor (Zabeel-Matrona, by Woodman) grabbed victory by a short half-head in the $250,000 weight-for-age Gr2 Dato Tan Chin Nam Stakes (1600m) at Moonee Valley. Lad Of The Manor (ridden by Greg Childs for trainer Roger Hoysted) defeated 7YO mare & last season's Australian Horse-Of-The-Year Makybe Diva (Desert King-Tugela, by Riverman) & Gr1-winning 8YO gelding Fields Of Omagh (Rubiton-Finneto, by Cerreto). Lad Of The Manor now has 11 wins (also including the Gr2 Liston Stakes over 1400m at Caulfield last start on August 20 & last season's Gr2 Waterford Crystal Mile over 1600m at Moonee Valley) & 6 placings (including 3 Gr1 placings) in 18 starts for $776,900 prize-money.
