Monday, 12th September 2005

Widden Stud shuttler Anabaa (Danzig-Balbonella, by Gay Mecene) added another group success when his daughter Virage De Fortune (Anabaa-Virage, by Kenmare) led all-the-way & scored by 2.5-lengths in the $120,000 Gr3 TBV Champagne Stakes (1200m) for 3YO fillies at Moonee Valley. Virage De Fortune (ridden by Greg Childs for trainer Bruce McLachlan) defeated Crevette (Danehill-Twiglet, by Twig Moss) & Testa Reala (Testa Rossa-Red Royalty, by Sovereign Red). Virage De Fortune (a $70,000 purchase by agent James Bester at the 2004 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale) now has 6 wins in 8 starts (also including the Gr1 QTC Sires Produce Stakes over 1400m against the males at Eagle Farm in June & Gr3 Champagne Classic over 1200m at Doomben in May) for $373,100 prize-money.
