Keeneland Day-2: US$2.3m A.P.Indy Colt

Wednesday, 14th September 2005

And the John Ferguson-Sheikh Mohammed combination paid US$2.3 million for an A.P.Indy colt out of multiple Gr2-winning Storm Cat mare Magicalmysterycat, reported thoroughbredtimes.com. Magicalmysterycat won 4 stakes as a 2YO (including the 1999 Gr2 Landaluce Stakes at Hollywood Park & Gr2 Schuylerville Stakes at Saratoga). Duncan Taylor (president of consignor Taylor Made Sales Agency) commented: "In this market, it's hard to tell, but we thought he was worth in that price area. We had him at $1.7-2 million in our appraisals & after Day-1, we thought we'd get a little more. He got a hell of a colt. He has a gorgeous head & a great walk & a whole lot of Storm Cat features. He had a great hip for an A.P.Indy. He could be a special horse. We could be hearing from that one."
