Kentucky Breeders Visit South America

Wednesday, 14th September 2005

In an effort to "improve South American racing & exchange operational values, members of the Kentucky Thoroughbred Association and the Kentucky Thoroughbred Owners & Breeders will travel to Chile, Uruguay & Argentina after the Keeneland September yearling sale," reported thoroughbredtimes.com. The Kentucky group "will present a series of technical seminars (covering a range of topics, from racehorse nutrition & internship opportunities, to farm management software & veterinary updates) in conjunction with the thoroughbred breeders of those South American countries". Chauncey Morris (director of business development for the Kentucky groups) summed up: "Our objective is sharing information with fellow horsemen & women in an effort to improve world-wide racing; in 63 countries where racing exists, 38 purchase their horses from Kentucky. Any way we can add value to their operations will add value to ours."
