Eurosilver 1st Dromoland Sire

Friday, 16th September 2005

In the US, Gerry Dilger's Dromoland Farm in Kentucky "will launch a stallion division when 4YO multiple graded stakes-winner Eurosilver (Unbridled's Song-Russian Tango, by Nijinsky II) begins stallion duties there in 2006," reported thoroughbredtimes.com. Eurosilver won the 2003 Gr2 Lane's End Breeders' Futurity at Keeneland & 2005 Gr3 Skip Away Handicap at Gulfstream Park, as well as finishing runner-up (behind multiple Gr1 winner Saint Liam) in this year's Gr1 Stephen Foster Handicap at Churchill Downs. Dilger commented: "I am delighted to enter the stallion market with a horse of this quality. Eurosilver was brilliant as a 2YO, winning the Lane's End Breeders' Futurity at Keeneland by nearly 5 lengths. He was a graded stakes winner or placer as both a 3YO & 4YO, while overcoming illness & injury." Overall Eurosilver (a Buckram Oak Farm home-bred) won 4 of 12 starts & earned US$622,310; he was retired after a leg injury was detected shortly after running in the Gr1 the Whitney Handicap at Saratoga on August 6. His dam Russian Tango was a stakes-winner & his 2nd dam Brave Raj was champion 2YO filly of 1986 & winner of that season's Gr1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies.
