Keeneland Day-4: US$900,000 Distorted Humor Colt
Jess Jackson of Stonestreet Stables paid US$900,000 for a Distorted Humor colt in this morning's early action (Australian time) on Day-4 at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale in Kentucky, reported thoroughbredtimes.com. The Florida-bred colt (consigned by Warrendale Sales as agent) is out of placed Deputy Minister mare Barnie Fife & hails from the family of champion 2YO filly of 1997 Countess Diana & multiple Gr1 winner Exogenous. Jackson's bloodstock advisor John Moynihan commented: "Distorted Humor is a phenomenal stallion who will probably stand in excess of US$100,000 & he's on his way to becoming a premier stallion. This is probably the best individual I have seen from that stallion." Jackson added: "I would echo that." Earlier this morning Jackson also bought an Unbridled's Song filly for US$450,000 & a Forest Wildcat filly (out of stakes-placed winner President's Girl, by Deputy Minister) for US$440,000 & summed up: "We've been very cautious in what we're bidding on. We're bidding on horses that have great potential as broodmare sires or sires & we want them to prove themselves on the track, so we're looking for athletes, not merely blood."
