Folklore Wins US Gr1 Matron Stakes

In the US, Robert & Beverly Lewis's home-bred juvenile Folklore (Tiznow-Contrive, by Storm Cat) "took command after a half-mile & drove to an impressive 14-lengths victory" in the US$300,000 Gr1 Matron Stakes (7 furlongs) for 2YO fillies at Belmont Park, reported thoroughbredtimes.com. Folklore (ridden by Edgar Prado for trainer D. Wayne Lukas) defeated Miss Norman (by Artax) & Along The Sea (by Anees). Folklore now has 3 wins (also including the Gr2 Adirondack Stakes on July 27 at Saratoga) & 3 runner-ups (including last start in the Gr2 Spinaway Stakes on August 26 at Saratoga) in 6 starts for US$376,300 prize-money.
