Pendragon Wins Gloaming Stakes

Former NZ Westbury Stud shuttler Elnadim (Danzig-Elle Seule, by Exclusive Native) recorded his 1st stakes-winner when exciting young staying colt Pendragon (Elnadim-Alacrity, by Grosvenor) broke through for his initial victory by a decisive 2-lengths margin (despite racing wide throughout) in the $250,000 Gr3 Gloaming Stakes (1800m) for 3YOs at Rosehill. Pendragon (ridden by Hugh Bowman for trainer Bart Cummings) defeated fellow colts Power Of Destiny (Danehill-Jeanetta Cochrane, by Sadler's Wells) & Duelled (Redoute's Choice-Leica Pretender, by Sir Tristram). Pendragon (a NZ$180,000 yearling at the 2004 NZ Bloodstock Karaka Premier Sale) now has a win & 4 placings in 5 starts for $300,500 prize-money; his dam Alacrity won the 1996 Gr1 NZ Oaks. The 11-year-old stallion Elnadim stands at Derrinstown Stud in Ireland.
