Surprise Sire For Our Egyptian Raine
The shock recent retirement of Our Egyptian Raine (Desert Sun-Egyptian Quuen, by Karioi Lad) has an added twist in the tail. In today's The Sydney Morning Herald, it has been reported that the Written Bloodstock Syndicate-owned mare is to be covered by Good Journey. Although not well known, Good Journey (Nureyev-Chimes Of Freedom, by Private Account) is impeccably credentialed. Privately owned by The Written Bloodstock Syndicate for use over their own mares only, Good Journey won the Gr1 Atto Mile at Canada's Woodbine, and was placed 3rd in the Arlington Gr1 Breeders' Cup Mile. Out of England & France's Champion 3YO Filly & dual Gr1 winner, Chimes of Freedom (a half-sister to multiple US Gr1 winner and Independent Stallions shuttler Denon), Good Journey is a half-brother to US Gr1 winner Aldebaran, and from the immediate family of former Coolmore shuttler Spinning World. Good Journey served "44 mares last year as a private stallion."
