Montjeu Adds French Black-Type

Coolmore's boom 9YO dual-Derby winning sire & former NZ Windsor Park shuttler Montjeu (Sadler's Wells-Floripedes, by Top Ville) also added a French black-type success when George Strawbridge's home-bred 3YO filly Montare (Montjeu-Contare, by Shirley Heights) recorded her 2nd successive stakes victory by winning the Listed Prix Joubert (2400m) at Maisons-Laffitte. Montare (ridden by Thierry Gillet for trainer Jonathan Pease) defeated fellow fillies Lake Toya (Darshaan-Shinko Hermes, by Sadler's Wells) & Violet Lane (Danzero-Banafsajee, by Pleasant Colony). Montare now has 3 wins & 5 placings in 9 starts for €106,200 (A$170,000) prize-money.
