Starcraft Eyes US Breeders' Cup

Monday, 26th September 2005

After Starcraft's victory in the Gr1 Queen Elizabeth II Stakes, ebullient Australian owner Paul Makin revealed "the US Gr1 Breeders' Cup now looms large on the giant chestnut's radar" reported thoroughbredinternet.com. Makin declared: "It's a short life & this is not a dress rehearsal so he may go for the Breeders' Cup Classic. I'm only disappointed Ghostzapper was retired! Starcraft goes better on dirt & I would also like to take the Sheikh's money in Dubai in March." Starcraft's trainer Luca Cumani "was a little more circumspect" in summing up: "We want to prove him to be the champion miler in the world & I think we are three-quarters of the way to doing that."
