Wild Wonder To Buck Pond

Tuesday, 27th September 2005

US 11-year-old stallion Wild Wonder (sire of this season's unbeaten 2YO Gr1 winner Wild Fit & a US$270,000 yearling colt last week at Keeneland) "has been purchased by Doug Arnold's Buck Pond Farm for stud duty at the Kentucky farm," reported bloodhorse.com. Wild Wonder (Wild Again-Carol's Wonder, by Pass The Tab) formerly stood at Kentucky's Spendthrift Farm as the property of Winchell Thoroughbreds. His unbeaten daughter Wild Fit won the Gr1 Del Mar Debutante Stakes just 13 days after breaking her maiden; she is now awaiting the Gr2 Oak Leaf Stakes as a stepping stone to the Gr1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies on October 29. Wild Wonder (with progeny earnings approaching US$2 million) is also the sire of 2005 Gr2 winner Fusaichi Rock Star (a full brother to Wild Fit) & 2 earlier stakes-placed runners. On the track, Gr2 winner Wild Wonder won or placed in 18 of 20 starts & earned US$639,036.
