4,477 Lots At Keeneland November

Meanwhile in Kentucky, Keeneland has catalogued 4,477 horses (including 2004 US champion 3YO filly Ashado) for its November Breeding Stock Sale (November 7-18) reported thoroughbredtimes.com. The catalogue (up 17 horses from last year's 4,460) includes 2,349 broodmares, 1,870 weanlings, 255 horses of various other ages & 3 shares. Keeneland director of sales Geoffrey Russell said: "Keeneland November is the single most important breeding stock sale in the world. It is the sale that offers the broadest selection of mares, foals & racing prospects in all price ranges. This proves again that Keeneland in November is truly the 'ultimate stock exchange'." Among the 1st-year sires represented by mares in foal are Smarty Jones, Lion Heart, Medaglia d'Oro, Pleasantly Perfect, Speightstown, Strong Hope & Toccet. Young stallions with weanlings in the catalogue include Aldebaran, Empire Maker, Mineshaft, Sky Mesa & Vindication.
