US Sire Yankee Fan Dies At 21

Nebraska-based stallion Yankee Fan (who sired multiple stakes-winners Nomistakethistime, Yank's Rapture & Raging Sequel) has died "from complications due to laminitis" aged 21, reported thoroughbredtimes.com. Since entering stud in 1991, Yankee Fan (Our Native-Cee Lyn Zee, by Cimarron) sired 60 winners (including 10 stakes-winners) who earned US$2,257,144. He spent the last 4 years at Buffington Thoroughbreds in Nebraska. In 12 crops of racing age, Yankee Fan is represented by 109 foals (85 starters). On the track himself, he won 5 of 18 starts in 1988-89.
