Relaxed Gesture Wins Gr1 Canadian International

Monday, 24th October 2005

In North America early this morning, Moyglare Stud's Irish-bred 4YO entire Relaxed Gesture (Indian Ridge-Token Gesture, by Alzao) "surged to a 4.5-lengths victory" in Canada's richest race, the C$2 million (US$1.6m) Gr1 Canadian International Stakes (12 furlongs on turf) at a "yielding" rain-affected Woodbine track in Toronto, reported canada.com. Relaxed Gesture (ridden by Corey Nakatani for trainer Christophe Clement) defeated English-bred Gr1-winner Meteor Storm (by Bigstone) & favoured 4YO dual Gr1-winner Electrocutionist (by Red Ransom). Overall Relaxed Gesture now has 4 wins & 7 placings in 12 starts (& "has been a model of consistency this year, finishing in the money in all 7 starts: 3 wins, 3 2nds & a 3rd"); most recently he finished 3rd in the US Gr1 Man O' War Stakes over 11 furlongs on turf at Belmont Park on September 11.
