Iowa-based sire Deerhound (whose 2nd crop included 1997 champion 2YO filly Countess Diana) "will relocate to Rockin River Ranch after the Iowa farm acquired the 17-year-old son of Danzig (out of Buckpasser mare Lassie Dear) from Wafare Farm," reported thoroughbredtimes.com. Deerhound has sired 9 stakes-winners from 10 crops of racing age; his 184 winners have come from 271 starters who have earned US$11,257,952. Deerhound is a half-brother to multiple Gr1 winner & sire Wolfhound, & to multiple Gr3 winner Weekend Surprise (dam of both Horse-Of-The-Year & sire A.P.Indy, & classic winner & sire Summer Squall).
