Lee Riding At Macau Derby Day

In Macau, Sydney jockey Jason Lee has been granted a visiting jockeys' licence for the Macau Jockey Club's Derby race day at Taipa on Sunday (April 9). Lee will ride 2 horses with Australian connections for expatriate Australian jockey-turned-trainer Peter Leyshan:

  • Jason (by Victorian sire Dangerous & a Woodlands Stud home-bred who raced in Australia as Deafen) in the HK$2.6 million (A$430,000) Gr1 Derby (1800m);
  • 4YO gelding Unionlucky Glory (Fasliyev-Laundrette, by Taufan) in the Gr3 Macau Sprint Trophy (1200m); he was a $75,000 yearling at the 2003 Magic Millions Premier Sale on the Gold Coast & previously raced as Bolshy in Australia (winning 3 of 9 starts for trainer Gai Waterhouse).
