More Music For Yallambee Sire

Thursday, 6th April 2006

Victoria's Yallambee Stud recently celebrated the Grand Premio 1,000 Guineas win of La Quinteria by their young shuttle sire Distant Music (Distant View-Musicanti, by Nijinsky). With his 1st Australian crop including a brace of stakes-placed juveniles (Bingham & Silverbeat) from just his initial 4 starters, there has been further good news for owners & trainers who supported Distant Music at recent Australian sales. UK trainer Barry Hills (who took Distant Music to Champion European 2YO status for high-profile Juddmonte owner Khalid Abdullah) saddled Distant Music's son Dream Theme for the same connections at Kempton Park last weekend, with the colt sizzling to a crushing 5-lengths Maiden win. That was after Alan Jarvis' Distant Music colt Awatuki had also scored by 5-lengths at Kempton & former British colt Tent finished runner-up in the Listed Pasadena Stakes at Santa Anita (one of the US Triple Crown lead-up events). Yallambee reports that among Australian trainers with Distant Musics in their stables are Lee Freedman, Mick Price, John McArdle, Robbie Griffiths, John O'Shea, Kim Moore-Waugh, David Hayes & Peter Moody.
