Thursday, 6th April 2006

Overall during the Fasig-Tipton Texas 2YO Sale, 193 lots sold for US$4,476,100 (up 70.1% on last year's 142 sold for US$2,631,600). The record US$23,192 average was up 25.1% (last year US$18,532) & the US$15,000 median was up 50% (last year US$10,000). Fasig-Tipton Texas director of sales Tom Boyce told thoroughbredtimes.com: "I feel very good about the sale. I thought we had the best bunch of horses we've ever gotten here & the buyers responded. It brought in a lot of new buyers. This sale is taking on a Southwest identity: the best place to sell a Louisiana-bred is in Texas."
