Bushfire Wins US Gr1 Ashland Stakes

Monday, 10th April 2006

Homewrecker Stable's Bushfire (Louis Quatorze-Traki Traki, by Mo Power) "controlled the pace from the start & dominated in the stretch en route to a shockingly easy 6.5-lengths win" in the US$500,000 Gr1 Ashland Stakes (8.5 furlongs) for 3YO fillies at Keeneland in Kentucky, reported thoroughbredtimes.com. Bushland (ridden by Cornelio Velasquez for trainer Eddie Kenneally) defeated Gr2-winner Wait A While (Maria's Mon-Flirtatious, by A.P.Indy) & multiple Gr1-winning hot favourite Balance (Thunder Gulch-Vertigineux, by Kris S). At her previous start, Bushfire won the Florida Oaks at Tampa Bay Downs on March 18; overall she now has 4 wins in 6 starts for US$475,740 earnings.
