Eremein Wins Gr1 The BMW

Monday, 10th April 2006

Former Arrowfield Stud shuttler & triple US Gr1 winner Timber Country (Woodman-Fall Aspen, by Pretense) added another Gr1 progeny triumph when 2005 Gr1 AJC Derby-winning 4YO gelding Eremein (Timber Country-Marrego, by Marscay) followed his last start victory in the Gr1 Ranvet Stakes (2000m) on March 25 with further success at the highest level when he finished powerfully in the straight to record a 1.75-lengths victory in the $2.25 million weight-for-age Gr1 The BMW (2400m) at Rosehill. Eremein (ridden by Glen Boss for trainer Allan Denham) defeated the 2005 Gr1 Caulfield Cup-winning 4YO gelding Railings (Zabeel-La Suffragette, by Palace Music) & tear-away front-running 5YO gelding Our Smoking Joe (Encosta De Lago-Dalzing, by Blazing Sword). Eremein now has 9 wins & 7 placings (also including runner-up in the Gr1 Chipping Norton Stakes over 1600m on March 11) in 20 starts for $3,522,385 earnings.
