Manton Wins McMillanprint Stakes

Monday, 10th April 2006

Coolmore's ill-fated multiple champion sire Danehill (Danzig-Razyana, by His Majesty) added a group success when the Woodlands Stud blue-blood colt Manton (Danehill-Kensington Gardens, by Grosvenor) scored a half-length victory in the $140,000 Gr2 McMillanprint Stakes (2000m) for 3YO colts & geldings at Rosehill. Manton (ridden by Darren Beadman for trainer John Hawkes) defeated favoured 3YO gelding Sepia (Spectrum-Arietta, by Snaadee) & fellow colt Goldtown (Sunday Silence-Bright Finish, by Zilzal). Manton (a $1.1 million yearling at the 2003 Inglis Easter Sale in Sydney) now has 2 wins & 3 placings in 12 starts for $217,225 earnings.
