Monday, 10th April 2006

NZ Cambridge Stud's multiple champion sire Zabeel (Sir Tristram-Lady Giselle, by Nureyev) added a black-type success when consistent 5YO gelding Men At Work (Zabeel-Sound Lover, by Sound Reason) overcame an outside barrier to score a 2.25-lengths victory in the $100,000 Listed Neville Sellwood Stakes (2000m) at Rosehill. Men At Work (ridden by Hugh Bowman for trainer John O'Shea) defeated 4YO gelding Molotov (Grand Lodge-Admit Anywhere, by Zabeel) & top-weighted fellow 5YO gelding Evasion (Octagonal-Jouet, by Bletchingly). Men At Work (a $200,000 yearling at the 2002 Inglis Easter Sale in Sydney) now has 6 wins & 10 placings in 19 starts for $318,475 earnings; he is among 100 stakes-winners by Zabeel & is also a full brother to Gr2 winner & Gr1 Sydney Cup place-getter Philosophe.
