Postponed At Stoney Bridge For NZ$8.5k

Monday, 10th April 2006

Promising Gr2-winning sire Postponed (Summer Squall-Bridal Tea, by Gulch) will stand the 2006 breeding season at Karaka-based Stoney Bridge for NZ$8,500+GST. His initial crop of 2YOs this season include: Gr2 Robin, Duke of Bedford Matamata Breeders' Stakes winner Naturo (also 1st filly home when an unlucky 4th in the Gr1 Ford Manawatu Sires' Produce Stakes on April 1); & Ellerslie 2YO winner Ifionlyhadtime (also less than a length from winner & probable NZ Champion 2YO Jokers Wild, when 4th in the Gr1 Ford Diamond Stakes at Ellerslie last month). Postponed's 6 progeny to race in NZ & Australia have all won or placed (& collectively returned cheques in 13 of their 17 starts). Postponed (3rd on the NZ 1st Season Sire Premiership) started his stud career at Fayette Park Stud, before relocating to Stoney Bridge in 2005 (where he covered 84 mares at NZ$5,500+GST). At this year's NZ Bloodstock National Yearling Sales, Postponed was Leading 2nd Crop Sire by Average price at the Select Sale (& 4th top Select sire overall behind Stravinsky, Pentire & Montjeu) with a NZ$50,167 average. Stoney Bridge will also be "announcing 2 new stallions for their recently acquired Stoney Bridge Waikato property at Matamata in the near future," reported NZ Thoroughbred Marketing.
