Serenade Rose Wins Gr1 Arrowfield Stakes

Monday, 10th April 2006

Coolmore's NZ Cambridge Stud shuttler Stravinsky (Nureyev-Fire The Groom, by Blushing Groom) added a Gr1 triumph when his daughter Serenade Rose (Stravinsky-Rose Of Tralee, by Sadler's Wells) scored a 1.75-lengths victory in the $400,000 Gr1 Arrowfield Stud Stakes (2000m) for 3YO fillies at Rosehill. Despite drifting out in the straight, Serenade Rose (ridden by Steven King for trainer Lee Freedman) defeated Beauty Watch (Belong To Me-Rush For Gold, by Quack) & Flora Danica (Danehill-Peruzzi, by Zabeel). Serenade Rose (a $400,000 yearling at the 2004 Inglis Easter Sale) now has 7 wins (also including last month's Gr2 Angus Armanasco Stakes over 1600m at Caulfield, plus the Gr1 Victoria Oaks over 2500m at Flemington in November, as well as the Gr2 Edward Manifold Stakes & Gr2 Wakeful Stakes during October) & 4 placings (including last start's Gr2 Kewney Stakes over 1600m at Flemington on March 18 & 2005 Gr1 Thousand Guineas at Caulfield) in 13 starts for $1,307,525 earnings.
