Hussonet 2YO Smashes Track Record

Tuesday, 11th April 2006

Arrowfield Stud stallion Hussonet (Mr Prospector-Sacahuista, by Raja Baba) received both a major pre-breeding season boost & pre Inglis Sale fillip (where his freshman crop yearlings go on offer next week) when juvenile colt Husson (Hussonet-Villa Elisa, by Roy) "delivered a sizzling performance" by shattering the track record in winning Argentina's Gr1 Gran Premio Raul y Raul E. Chevalier (1400m on turf) by 9-lengths at Hipodromo San Isidro, reported thoroughbredtimes.com. Husson (ridden by Gustavo Calventa) completed the journey in 1min 18.98sec to win Argentina's 1st Gr1 race of the season for 2YOs from Southern Lawyer (by Southern Halo) with a further 2-lengths back to Star In You. Campaigned by Stud Gladiador, at his previous start Husson had scored equally emphatically with "an 8-lengths romp in his career debut at Palermo on March 10 in a 6-furlong dirt race".
