Lotteria Future Undecided

Tuesday, 11th April 2006

A decision on the racing future of multiple Gr1-winning 4YO mare Lotteria (Redoute's Choice-Rose Reward, by Sir Tristram) "will be made in the up-coming months after connections decided to spell the outstanding mare following her disappointing 8th in Saturday's G1 Queen Of The Turf (1500m) at Rosehill," reported racenet.com.au. Jill Belford (racing manager for part-owner Gerry Harvey) confirmed: "There was no point pushing on to the Gr1 Doncaster after her run on Saturday. The connections decided to pull the pin on the preparation & spell her. At this stage it is undecided whether she will come back into training or head to the breeding barn later in the year." Lotteria (a $260,000 yearling at the 2003 Magic Millions Gold Coast Premier Sale) was the 1st Gr1 winner for boom Arrowfield Stud stallion Redoute's Choice & currently boasts 8 wins & 4 placings from 17 starts for $1,491,560 earnings; her highlights include victories in the 2004 Gr1 Flight Stakes (1600m) & 2005 Gr1 Myer Classic (1600m), plus Gr2 Surround Stakes & Gr2 Shannon Stakes, as well as runner-ups in last year's Gr1 Cox Plate (2040m) behind champion Makybe Diva & Gr1 Epsom Handicap over (1600m).
