Tuesday, 11th April 2006

Meanwhile last year's World Racing Series champion & 4-time Gr1-winner Vengeance Of Rain (Zabeel-Danelagh) has returned to his birthplace at NZ's Cambridge Stud for a lengthy spell. Cambridge owner Sir Patrick Hogan told NZ Thoroughbred Marketing: "It's an honour to have him back at Cambridge Stud. He arrived last week & will be here for 4-5 months before returning to Hong Kong (to trainer David Ferraris). He looks like he's happy to be back eating some NZ grass." Vengeance Of Rain (a NZ$300,000 yearling at the 2002 NZ Bloodstock Premier Sale) initially raced in Australia as Subscribe, before being sold to HK where he has won the Gr1 HK Derby, Gr1 Champions & Chater Cup, Gr1 Queen Elizabeth II Cup & Gr1 HK International Cup for over HK$35 million (A$5.8m) earnings.
