2006 Plans For Hurricane Run & Shirocco

Wednesday, 12th April 2006

Meanwhile French trainer Andre Fabre "outlined plans for the 1st half of the 2006 season for his star pair Hurricane Run & Shirocco (the 2 horses officially-rated as the best in the world)", reported racingpost.co.uk.

  • Fabre "has pencilled in a return to The Curragh as the seasonal starting point" for last year's Gr1 Irish Derby winner & confirmed: "Hurricane Run will start in Ireland in the Tattersalls Gold Cup on Irish 1000 Guineas day. He will then probably go to England for the King George at Ascot in July."
  • And US Gr1 Breeders' Cup Turf winner Shirocco "is in line to head to Britain even sooner", with Fabre confirming: "Shirocco is in good form at home. The plan at the minute is to go for the Jockey Club Stakes at Newmarket on May 7. That would be his 1st start of the season & then he will be aimed at the Coronation Cup at Epsom on Oaks day."
