Doncaster Day-2: $234,000 Cryptoclearance Colt
Trainer Tim Pitt (acting on behalf of football agent Willie McKay) out-bid Oliver St Lawrence (accompanied by Saudi purchaser Khalid Mishref) & paid 90,000 guineas (A$234,000) for a colt by veteran US stallion Cryptoclearance (offered from Willie Browne's Mocklershill Stables) reported racingpost.co.uk. Browne bought the colt for US$35,000 at the Ocala Sale in Florida last August. Pitt commented: "John Egan went over to ride about 30 horses in Ireland last week & really liked this one. He was a nice clean-winded straightforward horse."
