Meisho Samson Wins Gr1 Japan 2000 Guineas

In Japan, colt Meisho Samson (Opera House-My Vivien, by Dancing Brave) scored a half-length victory in the Gr1 Satsuki Sho (Japanese 2000 Guineas) over 2000m for 3YOs at Nakayama. Meisho Samson (ridden by Mamoru Ishibashi for trainer T.Setoguchi) defeated Dream Passport (Fuji Kiseki-Grace Land, by Tony Bin) & Fusaichi Junk (Sunday Silence-Seto Flowerian, by Bellotto). At his previous start Meisho Samson had won the Gr2 Spring Stakes. This race was the 1st leg of the Japanese 3YO Triple Crown; the 2nd leg is the Gr1 Japan Derby on May 28 at Tokyo.
