Wednesday, 19th April 2006

US 7YO freshman sire & triple Gr1-winner Came Home (Gone West-Nice Assay, by Clever Trick) recorded his 1st winner with his very 1st starter when debutante 2YO filly Beautiful Venue ("despite unseating her rider before the race & running free for more than 3 furlongs") powered to a 3-lengths win over 4.5 furlongs at Keeneland Race Course, reported thoroughbredtimes.com. Came Home stands for US$40,000 at Lane's End in Kentucky & has 77 foals in his 1st crop. On the track, Came Home won 8 stakes races (including the Gr1 Hopeful Stakes at Saratoga as a 2YO, plus both the Gr1 Santa Anita Derby & Gr1 Pacific Classic Stakes at Del Mar as a 3YO) & earned US$1,835,940.
