Glamour Puss Aims At UK Ascot

Wednesday, 19th April 2006

Top class Waikato Stud-bred & owned 5YO sprinting mare Glamour Puss (Tale Of The Cat-Centenaire/Escada, by Centaine) "may have earned herself a trip to England to contest some of the world's most prestigious sprinting events during Royal Ascot this summer," reported NZ Thoroughbred Marketing. The dual Gr1-winning mare came within a neck of adding a third Gr1 triumph when she lunged late but just failed to catch Red Oog on the line in Saturday's Gr1 T.J.Smith Stakes (1200m) at Randwick in Sydney. Glamour Puss's NZ breeder-owners the Chittick family "will discuss the likely UK campaign with trainer Danny O'Brien & make a decision this week on whether to follow in the footsteps of another successful European raider which they bred at Waikato Stud, Starcraft (who won 2 Gr1 events in England & France last year)".
