Inglis Easter Day-1: $1.3m Rock Of Gibraltar Filly

New Zealand's Te Akau Stud owner-breeder David Ellis paid $1.3 million for a 1st-crop filly by Coolmore's 7-time Gr1-winning shuttler Rock Of Gibraltar (the 7th foal from Machiavellian mare Subterfuge) consigned by Jerry's Plains-based Coolmore Stud as agent. From Subterfuge's 7 foals, 4 have raced for 3 winners including: Shania Dane (whose 5 wins from 1200-1500m for $679,875 earnings include the Gr2 Premiere Stakes, Gr2 Phar Lap Stakes, Gr3 South Pacific Classic & Gr3 Tramway handicap, plus placings in the Gr1 George Main Stakes, Gr1 Emirates Stakes, Gr1 Myer Classic, Gr2 Surround Stakes & Listed Twilight Glow Stakes); & Hong Kong star Scintillation (whose 9 wins from 1000-1600m for $2,290,905 earnings include the HK Gr1 Classic Mile, HK Gr3 Challenge Cup & HK Gr3 Sha Tin Sprint Trophy, plus placings in the HK Gr1 Bauhinia Sprint Trophy & HK Gr2 International Sprint Trial).
