Inglis Easter Day-1: $1.4m Elusive Quality Colt

UK-based John Ferguson Bloodstock (adviser to Sheikh Mohammed) paid $1.4 million for an Elusive Quality colt (the 5th foal from Zeditave mare Assertive Lass) consigned by Lochinvar-based Twin Palms Stud. The 7-time winner (1000-1600m) & $686,743-earner Assertive Lass (sister to Assertive Lad) triumphed in the Gr1 Flight Stakes, Gr1 Coolmore Classic, Gr2 Light Fingers Stakes & Gr2 Tea Rose Stakes (plus runner-up in the Gr1 AJC Oaks, Gr2 Surround Stakes & Gr3 Furious Stakes, & 3rd in the Gr1 Ansett Stakes). Her 3 foals to race are all winners, including: unbeaten Reset (whose 5 wins from 1400-1600m & $850,000 earnings include the Gr1 Australian Guineas & Gr1 Futurity Stakes); another 5-time winner (from 1100-2020m) & $463,330-earner So Assertive (whose victories include the Gr3 Chairman's Handicap & Listed Canberra Cup, plus runner-up in the Gr2 Warwick Stakes, Gr2 Chelmsford Stakes, Gr3 Craven Plate, Gr3 Frank Packer Plate & Listed JRA Plate, & 3rd in the Gr2 Tulloch Stakes & Gr3 Ajax Stakes); & stakes-placed Assertive Choice. The Sheikh's Darley Stud stands Reset at their Aberdeen-based Hunter Valley farm & recently acquired the pair's dual Gr1-winning dam Assertive Lass.
