Kentucky 2YOs: Average Up 30.6%
Overall during the Keeneland April Selected 2YOs-In-Training Sale (& despite the record US$2.395 million buy-back), 87 lots sold for US$18,440,000 (up 8.2% on last year's 105 sold for US$17,040,500) reported thoroughbredtimes.com. The US$211,954 average was up 30.6% (last year US$162,290) & the US$150,000 median was up 15.4% (last year US$130,000). Keeneland director of sales Geoffrey Russell summed up: "Having a large contingent of Japanese helped the middle market. They were extremely busy. And the top end was very good. We didn't have Zayat here last year & Stonestreet was busy this year. When you have new players at that level it does help."
