UK Tatts Day-2: $728,000 Danehill Colt
Blandford Bloodstock's Richard Brown (buying on behalf of US-based Egyptian brewing magnate Ahmed Zayat) paid 280,000 guineas (A$728,000) for a colt from the final crop of ill-fated champion sire Danehill (out of Ringside mare Fighting Countess). The colt (a half-brother to stakes-winner Dawn Princess) was another pin-hooking triumph for Willie Browne's Mocklershill Stables, who purchased him as a yearling for US$140,000.
